U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson declared that by this week’s end the plan will be ready. This plan has been brought forward to end the housing downfall.
This plan is said to be helpful for the home owners who are in a helpless position after their mortgage rates were reset to a higher rate. About 500,000 may lose their homes because of this mayhem in the real estate sector in US.
The government is trying to freeze the mortgage rate for the home loans taken by the borrowers. This may be a temporary effort but it may help homeowners.
Paulson also emphasized in generous tax treatment by the Congress for local government bonds which are used for refinancing mortgages.
